Special attention is given to the different types of polymorphisms that can be localized in them and the techniques used for their detection and analysis in different population groups.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, different methods <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"> will be described and applied <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">for <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">linkage <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">analysis\u00a0 that will allow for the elaboration of genetic maps, as well as the techniques of fine mapping, QTL analysis, positional cloning and linkage disequilibrium analysis to detect genes responsible for diseases or other <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">phenotypic <\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">alterations.<br \/>\nThis subject is of special interest for those students who are interested in performing genetic analyses related to different phenotypes of both qualitative and quantitative type.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this course students are presented with an overview of the basic structure of genes and genomes and the alterations they can present.
